Pessoa is my Brazilian surname, which carries the meaning of 'Person.' It's a symbolic name that represents the deep value I place on my creations.
I personally oversee every detail of each handbag – I know what comfortable companion your Pessoa will be and the difference it has on your ability to walk through life a little lighter. Hence, every detail is perfected.
I became a full-time mother in a distant land, far from my roots in Brazil, and disconnected from the other aspects of my previous life. I felt an inner yearning to rediscover the manual skills passed down from my grandmother during my youth. This prompted me to embark on a journey of crafting various handmade pieces. Eventually, I began creating handbags that quickly became cherished gifts among friends and were soon in high demand. Through word of mouth, my craft gained recognition, and it wasn't long before I found myself working late into the night to create bags destined for England, commissioned by a friend's sister who owned a shop.
In the initial stages, these bags were made of cotton and adorned with mixed prints. Later, I started working with leather scraps and discarded materials from the large industry. I would blend these leather remnants on the outside and cotton prints on the inside.
My primary focus is, and has been since the very beginning, comfort and elegance – my desire is to create soft, cheerful pieces that are a joy to wear; handbags that will be your lifelong companion and allow you to step out of your home feeling lighter.
